A strange cushion ha.s been presented to the Wanganui Museum. It is the work of a soldier named Bubb, who lived nearly 200 years ago, and whose descendants live in Wanganui. The cushion is made out of the red tunics of his comrades who were killed in battle. It is embroidered with the Hags of Ids country and the colours of the Royal Sussex Regiment. These are surmounted by the Imperial Crown, and in the four corners .are worked the R.ose of England, the Shamrock and Harp of Ireland, and the Thistle of Scotland. The names of battle in which lie fought are also worked on to the cushion, which now reposes under a glass case in the Museum.
