LATE LOCALS.
Mr H. P. Sweney 0 n a' telephone talk with his son, Merle, at Otira at midday was advised that the inquest of the two victims was being held this afternoon. That Loney is much improved and that both Wilson and himself (Merle Sweney) after a night’s sleep, were fit and well. Messrs Sweney and Wilson proposed leaving to-morrow for Hokitika, visiting Carrington hut and Park-Morpeth hut on their way to gather up their uelongings, which had been left behind is their hurried treck yesterday to Ben ley. They will come by way of Browning Pass and expect to reach the head of Lake Tvanieri on Monday afternoon.
