CARGO FOR NEW ZEALAND. RETURN O,F THE “BUTTER BOAT.” LONDON, December 3. The “Empire butter boat,” widen recently arrived at the Port ol London carrying a. record consignment of 40.0rt< eases of New Zealand butter, left today for. New Zealand with her holds loaded up with British motor-cars. Altogether, over Kin vehicles--!orty-two Bedford trucks /and 122 Yauxhal,! motor-cars —were neatly stowed away in the s.s. Tainui. The big crates were plastered with posters stuck on by the Empire Alarketing Board, urging the world to “Buy British.” New Zealand sot a good example with this shipment. It was the s.s. Tainui that the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board gave a luncheon to the trade and the Press to celebrate the arrival of the butter fleet. Now site is returning—the butter boxes exchanged for motor-ear crates— a fine example of reciprocal trade. This is only the first consignment of vehicles which the 1 aiixliail Company is sending overseas. Others are to go off at weekly intervals to Australia. South Africa, Malta, Trinidad.. and Jamaica.
