AIASTERTON, January 14. Though about seventy per cent, of the Catalogue was passed, the price realised at the AVairarapa Sheepbreeders’ Stud ram and ewe sale today were well up to expectations. The bidding was not animated, and only top lines of well-conditioned animats were sought after. The top price was secured by Q. Donald for Romney, purchased by R-. AY. Matthews, pf Featherston, for 110 guineas. A. S. Murray (Mosgeil) paid 100 guineas for a Romney, sold bv AV. Perry, ihe sheep wore all in fairly good condition, and the average price realised was 37 guineas. LONDON AVOOL SALES. LONDON, January 12. At the wool sales, 6,853 bales were offered, comprising 2,48!) bales from Now Smith Wales, 1.134 from Queensland. 702 from Victoria, 66 from AVestAustralia, OS from Tasmania and 2304 from New Zealand. There was a good and representative selection, a large a Item lance, and good competition. Yorkshire end Germany were operating freely, and France sparingly. Prices compared with December closing fiat os, were a<s follows: Merinos: Good, par to 5 per cent, higher; top-making sorts, fully firm.
