\ VILLAGERS ATTACK TROOPS. (United Press Association. —By Elec trio Telegraph. —Copyright. I CALCUTTA, January 14. Grave disturbances occurred at Jhelam, on the Kashmir State border following the seizure of peasants’ cat-tie by State authorities, in consequence of non-payment of land revenue. Crowds of vollagers, • armed with knives and sticks, surrounded Jheluiu and cut the telegraph wires. They attempted to destroy the bridge over the Jheluin River and attacked Kashmir troops, guarding the bridge, who fired, killing and wounding an unknown number. Further outbreaks are threatened, and curfew order has been declared °n the military police. Reinforcements are being sent from Jainma.
