IVKRYBODYS PICTURES. TO-NIGHT AND SATURDAY. “JUST A GIGOLO.” A motion picture star who had to be taught how to dance! This strange phenomenon was revealed at the Metro-Goidwyn-Mayer .studios during filming of William Haines’ newest picture, “Just a Gigolo,” which is coming to the Princess Theatre tonight and Saturday.
While Haines obviously was able to manoeuvre on a dance floor without making himself ridiculous, it seems that dancing played, so small a part in the* comedian’s private Mfe that he was totally unfamiliar with the most popular modern steps. Since he has the role of a gigolo in his latest vehicle, this situation naturally would not do for if there is anything a gigolo must know it is the latest in ballroom antics. So the studio engaged a dancing instructor for its star and report is inside of half a dozen lessons Haines was ready for the most ambitious stepping competition.
“Just a Gigolo” is based on the Belasco stage success, “Dancing Partner, ' Irene Purcell, who had the feminine lead in the play, fills the same role in the talkie version. Also News, Comedy, Revue and Seriol. Prices 2/6, 1/6, children 6d downstairs.
