LATE LOCALS.

The danger of a collision at the intersections of the streets of the ■town was exemplified on Wednesday evening, luckily without any result. A motor cyclist was travelling down Ta.ncred Street at a. good pace and when almost on Hamilton Street crossing. bystanders heard a; noise caused by the sudden application of brakes. Luckily the brakes did their duty well and the motor cycle almost stopped square on, allowing a motor car that was moving in Hamilton Street toward Revel! Street, to swing down Tailored Street, almost on to the other side kerbiug, and then continue on its course for Revell Street. The incident was one that caused more than one 'pedestrian to stop and marvel what would have resulted if the brakes had not been right up to standard..

It is being told about town that » joyrider who was charged 12/6 for a few minutes jaunt in the aeroplane the other afternoon, on coming down told the airman that it was robbery to charge such a sum tor such a short ride. The airman asked him if he would like another ride free and lie willingly accepted the offer. Up in the air they went again, and those on the ground were entranced by seeing a great stunting exhibition that lasted nearly hall an hour--looping the loop, side slipping, swerving, and other hair-raising stunts, following in quick succession. When the plane came down the oassenger had had apparently more hail value for his money, as he was a sick man indeed, and had to helped mil of the machine, the stunting having proved too much for his “innards."
