MORE DESPERATE FIGHTING. CHINESE AND JAPANESE CLASH. (United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) SHANGHAI, January 12. A desperate action took place near Hsiulintun, where several thousand Chinese bandits attacked Japanese troops. Four of the Japanese officers and thirty of the soldiers were killed. The remainder were wounded. Many parts of the city of Hsinlintun are now burning. ;J> OUTRAGE BY JAPANESE. STAFF ATTACKED WITH KNIVES. SHANGHAI, January l». A serious clash has occurred between Japanese, with the Chinese military at tne port of Shanghai. It happened when over one hundred Japanese civilians invaded the official newspaper “Minkiio-jipao” at Tsingao. The Japanese attacked the staff of the paper with knives and clubs. They also wrecked the machinery and then set fire to the premises. The attack was the result of the publication of art editorial in the paper, deploring th? fuct that the recent attempt of a Korean to assassinate the Japanese Emperor had been unsuccessful, Several Chinese were wounded,
