MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS
“Not guilty on all counts,” is the judgment of Sir Edward Parry, the county court judge, who has retried Alary Queen of Scots. Sir Edward sets out his reasons for believing Alary Queen of Scots Innocent of the crimes charged against- her in the book called “The Persecution of Alary Stewart.” Here is Sir Edward’s or his publishers own disruption of the hook printed on the dust cover:
“A highly diverting analysis of the «videncc garnered from State papers that Alary Queen of Scots was the victim of a criminal conspiracy effected by murder, fraud, falsehood, forgery, and duress, engineered by a set of gangsters, ol whom 1 1 he Mustard .Moray, Alortoii. and Ala tland were the chief, with ‘John Knox as cheerful accessory.”
Fronde, the historian, called Aloray “Stainless Aloray.” Sir Edward writes him down as one of the most unscrupulous of the “gangster ’ guilty of tc-achcry and other crimes, who engineered the judicial murder of George Gordon, Earl of Iluutly, chief of the Gordon Gian, in order to got some of h's estates. Sir Edward Parry, writing as a Protestant, holds the view that Alary was a victim. partly of Prate-taut hatred and partly of sheer seU-scck-ing villainy on the part ol leading Scottish noblemen. POSSIBLE PERIL.
