EVRRYBODYB PICTURES.

< TO-NIGHT AND TUESDAY

“6 CYLINDER LOVE.”

Drama is more artistic, an<l comedy is more worth-while. Such, at least, is V the view of Spencer Tracy, • holder of a Fox star contract, and leading player in their comedy, “6 Cylinder Love,” ' coming to-night to the Princess Thei ater. “Audiences go to a dramatic r performance,” says Tracy, largely because they feel that their souls need a little uplifting, or because they appreciate the sincere if cold artistry of the performance. “Comedy audiences go because they want to be entertained, and since most comedy is based on our being able to laugh at human foibles, this human spirit permeates both the show and the actors, and renders the latter far more approachable and understandable. “Consequently the tragedian stands aloof on a pedestal, far above the common herd, but the comedian gets down and mingles with the crowd. From the player’s own viewpoint, the latter is much more comfortable.” Tracy scored sensationally in “TT" The River” and “Quick Millions” for Fox Films. His latest screen role gives • him a hilariously funny part. i 'Sidney Fox, Edward Everett Horton. El Brendel, Una Merkel, William Collier, Sr., Ruth Warren, Lorin Raker . Bert Roach and William Holden are \ in the cast. Thornton Freeland directed. Good supports. Prices 2/6, 1/6, children 6d downstairs.
