RACING STABLES
TO BE CLOSED DOWN

WELLINGTON, January 7
It is likely that before the end of the present, month, V. Biddiford’s large training establishment at Trentham will be closed and most of the horses will be offered for sale at auction.
Mr Riddiford has announced his intention of retiring from extensive participation in sport in the Dominion The stables were erected about nine years ago and horses troni there lane si,nce earned over £30,000 in stakes. The best horses have been Grand Knight and Historic. Riddiford intends to keep Historic and Clangor meanwhile, and may have them trained at- another centre. Three sons of Limona, the three-, vgrar-old Forestry and two-year-old colts Meritor and Might, will probably be sent to Australia, and S. G. Reid may go across and set up establishments there, if these horses should race successfully. Riddiford may continue to patronise Australian meetings.
