FORGERY ALLEGED
CHARGE AGAINST WOMAN. (By Telegraph —Ter Tress Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, January 6. There was a charge of forging the name of E. Peek to a ■ letter to the Editor of the Taranaki Daily News, requesting the insertion of the announcement of the engagement of Ida Feek, of Uruti, to George Prendev.itle Church, brought against a married woman named Ethel May Sutton, of Uruti, to-day. She was committed by Justices of the Peace to the Supreme Court for trial.
Counsel objected to evidence of the insertion of tue engagement announcement in a Wellington paper (the “Dominion”) on the grounds that that announcement may have been copied from the Taranaki Daily L\ews. The objection was noted.
