December 31, ' The Lang Labour .Government of New 'South Wales . ilyV s been rewarding its industrial and political, supporters with a whole case of pi'ums, the crop this season being a bumper one. Trades Hall officials especially have been favoured. There are 21 Trades Hall officials in the last batch of appointments to the Legislative Council. Next to the union official's, most consideration has been given ito defeated Labour candidates. Then there were sixty lesser lights who became dole inspectors. When these were retired an additional rist was placed on the Government pay-roll, and their numbers have grown steadily. J. Clancy, defeated Labour candidate in. the Ash tie Id (State) ' by-election, a District Court Judge; £ISOO a year.
