SERIOUS ISSUE IN VIEW. FOUR JAPANESE MURDERED. (United Press Association. —By ElectricTelegraph .—Copyright.) SHANGHAI, January 4. The possibility of serious trouble has arisen at Foochow, where a Chinese mob murdered a Japanese married couple during anti-Japanese demonstrations. Two Japanese naval officers were violently assaulted ond murdered. The couple were a teacher and his wife. They were beaten to death outside the Japanese Club. The Japanese are protesting against the murders. Considerable tension exists. JAPANESE DESTROYERS LEAVE. TOKYO, January 5. In consequence of the anti-Japan-ese outrages, at Foochow, three destroyers have left Sasebo for China, for the protection of Japanese residents. UNITED STATES’ PROTEST. WASHINGTON, January 5. The United States State Department has protested to Japan through Mr J)e Buchj (Ambassador) against the attack by the Japanese soldiers on the American Consul Mr Chamberlain, at Mukden.
