TOURNAMENT AT TIMARU. (By Telegraph—Per press Association} TIMARU, January 4. The South Canterbury Tennis Champion ships concluded to-day in changeable weather. The morning was hue and hot, but ’the sky was overcast in tlm afternoon with a little rain failing, but not sufficient to stop play, large gallery witnessed the various finds, which were productive ol aign class tennis. The finals resulted as follows:
Men’s Singles : AV. G. Robertson (Timaru) heat AV. E. Renton (Timaru) 6—3, 6—2, 6—2.
Men’s Doubles: Vv, E.? Renton (T mi aru) and B. Sou taw (Christchurch) beat E. G. Roddy (Dunedin) and B. Loughnan (Christchurch) 6—2, 6—4, 6—2. AVomen’s Singles: Muss M. Wake (Christchurch) beat Miss M. Gibson ((Timaru) 6—2, 4—6, d—6. AVomen’s Double?: Aliss.j, M. Wake and B. Gould ((hristohurch) beat M.isses M. Gibson and D. Host (Tiinaru) 6—2, 6—4.
