A BRAVE PILOT
COOLNESS IN FACE OF DANGER. [United Press Association—By Elaotrit Telegraph—Copyright, j * PARIS, .December 31. Adjutant de Fray.ssinet, a 28-year-out pilot, has been awarded the. Legion 01 Honour under exceptional circumstances. De Frayssinet, accompanied by a passenger, was riiying over Valence when the machine burst into flames. The pilot signalled the passenger so jump, and prepared to follow, when he noticed that the pasenger’s: parachute was entangled in the fuselage. Despite the flames, de Frayssinet climbed hack and levelled the aeroplane, enabling it to maintain sufficient height for the passenger to make a descent uninjured. , Meanwhile, de Frayssinet, fearing that the ordinary landing would cause the rush of air to envelop him in flames, deliberately crashed against a tree. The passenger rushed to the rescue, and they fell into each other’s arms. The pilot partly owes his life to a non-inflammable suit.
