GHASTLY CRIME
JAP, SERVANT’S REVENGE.NEW YORK, December 25. Poughkeepsie was the scene of a curious murder to-da(v. Gentro Akiyama, a Japanese butler, enraged at losing his soft job, killed John Schatz, a wealthy m.nufacturer. Mil's Florence Ourozza. who was Scha-tz’s ‘companion in his mansion, told a grisly tale of torture. She said that when the Japanese returned from his last evening out, Schatz asked him to prepare some sandwiches, and discharged him upon his refusal to make them. At daylight this morning, the Japanese invaded their bedroom, struck Schatz over the head with a bottle, and then invited his woman companion to watch the torture. The Japanese twisted a butcher’s knife in his employer’s mouth, and smashed Ids fingers into pulp with a hammer. In, a subsequent straggle a te'eplione instrument was knocked off the table, and central exchange heard screams mid called the police. Ihe Japanese confessed his crime.
