BUSH FIRES
MENACING MANY STATIONS. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this day at 9.2fi a.mV SYDNEY, January 2. Bush fires are still menacing many stations and homesteads in South and West New South Wales. There are hope s ; for the rest now in the possibility of rain. Fires for the time threatened the Federal Capital, and the whole of Canberra’s fire fighting facilities were employed to avert the danger, and with a fortunate change of wind anxiety was allayed late yesterday.
