THE ALL BLACKS
ALLEGATIONS REFUTED. UNBOUNDED PRAISE FOR TEAM. I United Press Association —By Electr.a Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received this day at 9.25 a rn) LONDON, December 30. Replying to Mr Jenkin’s criticism of the 1924 Ad Blacks as pot hunters, Mr ■C. W. Packford, writing in the "Sporting Life,” says that the statement is .ridiculous that there are no joys derivable From playing rugger these days. Personally, he learned to love the Zeal Heelers. In Palestine, during "war-time, they were just as concerned as on the playing fields to uphold country prestige. Some games are not kidgloved, and there are a few isolated incidents which are inseparable in the case of. such well-trained giants, yet there was nothing harmful to the best traditions of the game. To suggest otherwise is intolerable and unforgiveable. Porter’s team was a magnificent machine of sportsmen. “Fancy a man like Mark Nicholls being regarded as otherwise.”
