TRIPLE TRAGEDY.
DEMENTED HUSBAND’S ACT. "WIFE AND DAUGHTER MURDERED. (Australian Press Association.) —— , * ADELAIDE, December 30, A domestic tragedy occurred at Helmsdale early tins moriung, and as a jesmt of it there are three dead, namely, Regina.d Jones, aged fifty years, a billiard saloon keeper, Jus wire, Gertrude .joins, aged forty-eight and his daughter, Marjorie, aged eighteen years. A woman boarder stated that -she was awakened on beariiw the girl, Marjorie's screams. There also was a neighbour who heard them and who rushed across the road and looked through the windows, and saw Jones in the ait or killing the girl, whose throat he severely'gashed. She fell at the loot of her mother’s bed. Jones then bit bis wile on the’ head, and also cut her throat. Jones afterwards committed suicide outside in the backyard by cutting his own throat. The police have ascertained that Jones ■ had been worried lately over the loss of patronage at his billiard saloon.
