PHAR LAP. WELLINGTON, December 29.' , Mr W. Mr Nielson, veterinary sur- 1 geon in charge of Phar Lap, arrived from Sydney by the Monowai yesterday, accompanied by E. J. Martin, an j apprentice rider, and in conversation : with a reporter lie said that all ar- 1 rangements had been made l for run- | , ning Phar Lap in the Agua Caliente , Handicap after the horse had spent some two months in Mexico. Mr Woodstock, who has been in charge of Phar.Lap since he left Sydney, also left by the Monowai. Mr Nielson felt confident that the horse would produce all Ids Australian form, as the climate in Mexico and , South California, he understood, was very similar to what Phar Lap had been used to for many months past. The Monowai is due to arrive in San Francisco on January 15, and Phar Lap will be kept in that city for a week after which he will go to Mexico. ’There he will be allowed , about two months for acclimatisation purposes. Provision has been made for feeding him on special grass to be sent on to Mexico from San Francisco.
