The Canadian and New Zealand delegations, behind closed doors, began their formal sessions in connection with- the negotiations of a trade treaty. The sessions, so one delegate said, would last for one week, and perhaps longer. \fter the "informal week-end conversations between Hon. Mr Stevens and Hon. Mr Downie 'Stewart, both rei - erated that no information can be given here, but they explained that their purpose was' to establish Preferential rates, rather than the abolition of their tariffs.
