The third track-switch to be used in connection with the timing of Mr Norman (“Wizard”) Smith’s attempt to break the land speed record at the Ninety Mile Beach next month arrived from Sydney by the Mar am a last week Two track-switches, one for each end of tlie measured distance, were supplied with the timing apparatus purchased early in the year by the Auckland Automobile Association, but it was found later that Mr Smith would attempt to break more than one record on each run, so that an extra- switch would be necessary.
