The tote handled £36,212 15/- compared with £55,462, for the first day,last year, representing a decrease of £19,249*. Results:— Selby Handicap.—l Worthy Queen 1, 5 Caballero 2, 6 Windchat 3. Won by 2$ lengths-; if lengths. Times: 3.32, 3.33 1-5, 3.33. December Handicap.—! Tempest 1, 3 Rey De Quest 2, 4 Guindigger 3. Won by half a head; 1£ lengths. Times: 3.24, 3.25 145, 3.25. The race was sensational, Torpedo Huon breaking when the field was bunched eutering on tiie last round, bringing down Machine Gun and Wrackler. Stanmoor broke later, capsizing Auto Machine and badly interfering with Golden Pedro. Nelson Tasker led almost all the way from Royal Silk, and Muriel De Oro.
