BOARD DISMISSED
STARTLING ALLEGATIONS. MISBEHAVIOUR AND INCOMPETENCY. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.) ■SYDNEY, December 29. A protracted investigation by the Industrial Magistrate, Mr Prior, resulted in stringent criticism of three Commissioners comprising the Western Lands Board, who, he declared, were guilty of .•misbehaviour and incompetency byutheir refusal, or deliberate neglect, to carry out the duties of their office. The State Government decided to dimiss them, and to appoint the following new Board: —P. M. McGirr, (Legislative Councillor and brother of the Minister for local Government) ; T. Watson (Surveyor of Forbes, and Lang Plan candidate of Forbes, and recent Federal Election) and W. Stagg (Secretary of Returned Soldiers League). The term of appointment is for’’seven years'! Mr McGirr, as Chairman, receives £ISOO a year, and the others £IOOO each. The announcement of thy personnel has caused a surprise. •
