CLOUDBURST
OVER CALIFORNIAN CITIES. United Press Association.—By EHectrio Telegraph.—Copyright.] VANCOUVER, December 26. A. cloudburst swept Los Angeles. A heavy wind wrecked garages, unroofed buildings, and uprooted trees. Rain turned the streets of the suburb, Culver City, into veritable rivers two feet deep. 'Phe city of Longreach was inundated.
At a street corner in Los Angeles the flood washed out electric poles, and live wires fell spluttering into the street. The occupants of a car were killed.
Seven persons, five of one family, were killed when a train struck a car loaded with holiday-makers at Batavia.
