Fraulein Urta- Bolin, daughter of a Breslau doctor and one of the world’s greatest authorities on witchcraft, has agreed to brave the rigours of the cold on a snow-clad mountain at midnight to test au ancient Black Magic recipe. Tills is in tbe possession of the National Psychic Research Society’s laboratory, and gives directions for'tbe production of a “fair youth.” A maiden of pure heart, clad in white, must anoint a liegoat with a concoction of bat’s blood, the scrapings of church bells, soot ano honey. The animal wi'l then turn into a, beautiful youth. The rite must be performed at full moon on the highest pea of the Harz Mountains. Most of the girls approached by the society to do it- feared that something uncanny would happen. Fraulein Bohn, who is aged twenty, agreed instantly, declaring that she was not afraid.
