LEAGUE’S COMMISSION’S VISIT, (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) GENEVA, December 22. The League of Nations Council has appointed the following commission to visit Manchuria early in the New Year : Earl Lyddon, M. Claudel, a member of the French Supreme War Council, Herr iSchnee, formerly Governor of German East Africa, Count Aldo Branding formerly Italian 'Ambassador at Berlin, Mr 'Walker Hines, an American lawyer, who acted as arbitrator in Europe under the (Peace Treaties in. 1920-21, and investigated the Rhine and Danube rivers for navigation for the League of Nations in 1925. JAPANESE WARNING. ERADICATION OF BANDITRY. (Received this day at 9.25 a.m) SHANGHAI, December 23. General Honjo, commanding the Japanese forces in Manchuria, issued a ,'solemn vviarning to China: not to interfere with military movements, otherwise drastic action would be taken against any force attempting to hinder the eradication of undisciplined Chinese troops adopting banditry. All ambiguity regarding the intentions of the Japanese is removed with the publication of a Tokio war office statement announcing the determination to remove the possibility of all future disturbances in Manchuria by drastic military action against Cliaing Swell Liang’s troops concentrated at Chin Chow.
