GAS COYS WAGES
COURT REFUSES REDUCTION. - (Australian Press Association.) “ MELBOURNE, December 22. • The Arbitration Court has refused applications, by the Melbourne and the Hobart Gas Companies for a ten per cent redaction in the wages of their employees. Judge Detheridge declared that the Court would not help these companies, as being privileged and prosperous monopolies. Applications for ten per cent, reductions' were also made by the Victorian country gas, companies and the Launceston' Gas ■ Company. These wove . granted^because their business had slumped. T——
