DEATH OF A CHILD

POISONED BY PILLS. GISBORNE, December 19. A verdict ‘of death due to poisoning was returned by the Coroner at the inquest on tho.-,nine-month-old infant Peter Denton, who died on November 29 as a result of taking pills. The Coroner, Mr P. H. Harper, said that lie did not think that the child’s custodian, Mrs Evelyn Lister, could he blamed. The .most that could lie said was that she was somewhat careless in giving the child a 1 bottle of pills containing poison.
