Coade Runangar—Miss S. A. Wick. A letter from the Department regarding the necessity' for the employment .of efficient and reliable drivers was referred to the School * Committees concerned. A circular was received from the Department regarding operations of the correspondence classes, and suggesting that pupils be encouraged to * enroll, .It was ~ resolved that no action be taken regarding present Grade O Schools. The report was adopted. ’ s BUILDING doMMITTEE. Hokitika:—The Committee’s application. for the use of Education Reserve for a playing ground for the High' School pupils was referred to Mr H. 'J. Bignell for report. Lower Kokatahi:—A memorandum was' received from the Department stating . that as a residence had been provided (the Board converted the closed school at upper MfCokatahi into a residence for the use of the Headmaster and his wife and arranged for\ payment .of.i rent at the rate-of 5s per - week) payment ; of house allowance cuond not be approved . and requesting that the total' amount over-paid to Mr Russel from 15th; June last—the date on which he occupied the residence—be deducted from the December pay-list. The Chairman of the Buildings Committee was requested to confer with .the Director of Education- during ‘his - project visit to the Board on Friday, 18th instant.
