BREAKING UP CEREMONIES

SECONDARY AND PRIMARY CLASSES!

In the absence of any prize giving at the Hokitika District High School this year, a decision come to by ihe Committee, with the approval of the Rector, the annual breaking up ceremony was of a much quieter nature, than usual. On Wednesday last the secondary classes of the High School had their breaking up ceremony. Mr Mambourne, Chief Inspector of Schools visited 4 •'■the school, and after making min inspection of the school addressed the Scholars at some length. V*-. •

The scholars presented a nfusical 'programme of considerable .interest and subsequently the honours list were distributed before tlie scholars were dispersed. On Friday , afternoon the primary school break-up took place, the pupils providing an interesting musical programme.

The Rector (Mr J. L.
