WEDDING BELLS

DOWELL—MARSHALL. All Saints’ Church Hokitika was crowded by friends on Wednesday afternoon last on the occasion of the marriage of Vera, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Marshall of Lower Kokatahi, to Bart, eldest son of Mr Awry Dowell of Te Kinga. The Rev. H. J. W. .Knights conducted the service. The bride, who was given away by her father, made a charming picture, dressed in an ankle length frock of ivory satin and georgette with the orthodox wreath and veil. She carried a beautiful bouquet the gift of Mrs B. Doweil. She was attended by her sisters, kva and Dorothy, who wore dainty lemon frocks with summer felt hats to match, and carried beautiful bouquets of choice hot house flowers. Little Pearl Taylor made a charming flower girl.while the brides 'small brother Jackie was a v-ry sweet page boy. Mr Max Hunter ably carried out the duties of best man and Mr J. Robison those of groomsman.

After the ceremony the guests were entertained by the bride’s mother who wore a dainty black ensemble and carrying a bouquet of scarlet geraniums and sweet peas. The bridegroom’s mother wore wine crepe-dc-chine with bouquet to tone. --The happy couple left in the evening for Christchurch and Akaroa where the honeymoon will be spent.
