DAMAGED .BY EIRE. PREMISES IN GISBORNE. (By Telegraph—Per Press A ssocAation) ■ GISBORNE, December 18. A fire this morning partly gutted the premises of Mr Nasmith, a jeweller, and several offices on the upper floor of the building, which was owned by Mr A. J. Cox, whose own jewellery stock in an adjoining shop suffered severely from water. The building was insured for £4OOO in the Sun Office and the stocks in Commercial Union and Sun Office. man killed. NELSON, December 18 Alex Hall, single, an Australian, was killed this morning by a fall of earth' while engaged on irelief work at Hope *Saddle.
