BERLIN, December 17

The Reichstag Committee of sixtyfive, have defeated the Hitlerites’ attempt, which wa.s aided by the Communists, to force an immediate reassembly of the Reichstag. This represents a. substantial increase of Chancellor Bruening’s Reichstag majority. The Chancellors recent strong speech which was Broadcast lias put Hitler on the defensive, and has enabled Dr. Bruening to insist on his own conditions before be would accept the Hitlerites’ co-operation with the Government.,
