FAT LAMB COMPETITION
MANAWATU ENTRIES. PALMERSTON N., December 15. At the Longburn Freezing Works morning, eighty-seven entries of three lambs each were judged alive in the Manawatu group competition in the export lamb class, .for prizes given by the Meat Producers’ Board. This afternoon the entries were slaughtered and the carcases will he shipped to London to he judged there with other exhibits for the North Island Shield.... The awards made were: W. G. Booth (Cheltenham) 1, R. McDonald (Aslihurst) 2, F. C. Burgess (Rongotea) 3. The judge (Mr J. C. Cornford) said that it was a marvellous display, and he had never seen better in thirty years. Ti'ere was a phenomenal assembly of splendid fat lambs.
