BRUCE BAY NOTES
(By a local Correspondent.) On Sunday, Dec. 13th., residents of South Westland from Karaiigarua to Maintain gathered for the opening of the Anglican Church at Bruce Bay. After the morning service a pleasant picnic lunch was held. Boween 60 and 70 gathered under the trees in excellent weather. The Vicar, the Rev. A. K. Warren, who is leaving the district, was presented with an envelope of money by Miss Iris Wilson. Mr Les Addison expressed on behalf of the residents of the district their appreciation of Mr Warren’s services and his congratulations on the completion of the Church. General regret is being felt in the district at Mr Warren’s departure. In the afternoon in the presence of a congregation of 62, the opening Service of the Church was held. And the first christening of the son of Mr and Mrs T. Rochford took place. The Church has a most pleasing appearance both inside and out and fills a, long felt want.
