NEW P.O. FOR DUNEDIN
Dunedin is to have a fine new Chief Post office to cost £200,000, while the site and foundations will represent £IOO,OOO. The building will occupy a whole block, with frontages to Princes, Waters, Bond and Liverpool Streets. It will be eight storeys high, with basement and sub-basement, and the type of construction will he steel frame and concrete. Coromandel or other approved granite is specified up to the second floor of the Princes Street elevation, and from there to the -top the builder may use either Nelson marble or the vitric tuff that is quarried at Putaruru, on the Rotorua line, and of which the new St. Luke’s, -R emu era, is being built.
