£SO DAMAGES
FOR DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association)
WELLINGTON, December 10
Resulting from anonymous letters, Annie Maine Cunningham was to-day awarded £SO damages with £lO 4s costs, against Elizabeth McFadden for maliciously casting a reflection on her character. One letter was to plaintiff’s brother and the other to a member of the Hospital Board. Plaintiff is dispenser at the hospital, a position for which it was stated, the defendant’s daughter had been an upplicant.
