The flood position is easing. Train traffic was resumed on the main southern and western lines.
Flooded rivers between Bowen and Prosperpine caused a disorganisation of railway services between Rockhampton and Townsville.

Queensland wheat growers lost at least one hundred and fifty thousand pounds a's a result of floods and rain. According to Phelps, manager of the State Wheat Board, Ithe fears of floods in northern inland rivers of New South Wales have abated considerably and serious floodings are now unlikely.
A Hindoo was drowned crossing a swollen creek at Ballina.
