ARMY AND ANGLICANS, CATHEDRAL SERVICE. LONDON, November 20. General Higgins, of the Salvation Army, accepted the invitation of the Dean of Canteibury, the Rev. H. R. I . i 1 ppard, to worship at the worldfamed shrine, The 'Dean,' .in scarlet vestments, escorted Genera} Higgins to a place of honour in the Cathedra]. He was followed by a Salvationist procession, carrying banners, and by Canterbury’s civic heads, The congregation, which flb'ed the Cathedral, comprised Anglicans and Free Churchmen.
Major Edwards’ address was a telling appeal for a fuller vision for the Christian churches.
DESPERATE PLAN, SUICIDE CAUSES NINE DEATH#. WARSAW, Non ember 28. Disappointed in love, and unable to pay his debts, a chauffeur committed suicide by blowing up the house jn which he lived, The explosion ignited a quantity of petrol, and two neighbouring houses were destroyed in a fire. Nine other people were killed.
