SIX MONTHS’ SENTENCE. “A BEST TO THE COMMUNITY.” {By Teleyraph—Per Press Association) NAPIER, December 9. Two Maori entertainers, Hen are Taulieri and Dave Nicliolls, who camped ntear the river last night, heard sounds of an unwelcome visitor. One com men tied snoring while the other left- the tent by passing under the rear and pounced on the visitor as lie entered through the flap. The Maoris then trussed up the man, whose name is Patrick O’Shannessey, and sent for the police. The- Magistrate this morning inflicted six months’ hard labour on O’Shannessey. He—characterised., prisoner as a pest to the community. O’Shannessey had several previous convictions.
