PATROL ATTACKED

BY NEW GUINEA NATIVES. EIGHT RAIDERS ARE RILLED. (Australian Press Association.) (Revived this day at 10.15 a.m.) CANBERRA, December 9. An- attack on a Government' patrol by natives in New Guinea is reported to the Prime Minister's Deparmont by the acting-Adminstrator. The patrol was establishing a base camp near the border of New Guinea and Papua, where Hellmuth Baum and seven of his native servants were murdered bv natives last May. Eight of the attacking natives were killed before the raiders withdrew. No casualties "in the Administration party are reported.
