RUSSIAN TRADE
DESTINED TO LEAD THE WORLD. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, December 7. The Chamber of Commerce in a report on Russian trade, emphasises that the nations must consider the attitude towards Russia, whose enormour wealth the Soviet is now rapidly materialising. The report- says:—lt is-impossible to cut Russia out of the community of nations, whatever may be her politics, The Five Year Plan is progressing in production, so that Russia may, in a few years be the world’s greatest producer of oil, coal, pig iron, steel, timber, chemicals, grain, sugar, furs, cotton and dairy produce. She may be able to undersell any country if she is allowed to continue her present export j.polj.cy. Britain cannot tolerate the existing unequal trade balance as between the two countries, especially when Russia’s payments for her exports to England are being used to buy tools from England’s competitors.
