AUSTRALIAN TRADE

WITH CANADA INCREASING (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, Dec. 8. Advice lias been received from Ottawa to the effect that the recent reciprocal Cariadian-Ausralian treaty has substantially increased the trade between the two Dominions. Judicious effective advert sing placed in the Canadian papers by the Australian Director of Publicity, it is stated has created a demand for Australian products, which hitherto nad net existed.

Mr Stevens, the Canadian Minister of Trade and Commerce, says that the new Treaty will be mutually advantageous, and that it has -already justified the hopes of the ‘two peoples. He also expressed the lope that the Australians en route to the Homeland will travel by the Canadian route, and so combine business with pleasure, Mr Stevens added there was no cantnct like personal contact.
