TO MARKET BUTTER ABROAD ENSURING OF BETTER PRICES. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, December 8. • Reprcscntiiitives of the Go-operative and the Proprietary butter interests in all parts of Australia to-day decided to form a company for the marketing of Australian butter abroad, and for also making it better known, and ■ for ensuring bf tter ' prices for the producers. The Company will have a capital oi fifty .thousand poiirfasy which will be divided into , ten thousand shares oi five pounds sterling each, with powei to increase.or reduce the capital. The Company .will be named Australian Dairy Products Limited. The speakers at the meeting complained that upwards of fifty per cent, of the Australian butter now marketed in the United Kingdom fell into hands of' blenders, and thus lout it", identity. The object of the Company was to make sure that a larger quantity of Australian butter reached the consumer direct as Australian butter, and thus to create art increased demand, and a more substantial good .will, The blunders might ndt like this innovation, but they would nott run the risk of running counter to the Australian interests. The Company, it was argued, could also'deal more largely in pat butter, using a uniform brand for all the iStates, A committee has been formed to give effect to the Conference’s decision.
