Connolly, Independent Coalition Liberal, and the defeat of Hon. David Jones by 136 votes. The final for the Oamaru seat shows Mr J. A. MacPherson, Coalition Unionist returned by a majority'' of 1056 votes. At Auckland ■ East Mr F. W. Schramm, Labour, was returned by a majority of 1637 votes.
