SYDNEY, December 5

The figures for Australia’s oversea trade for the first four months of the financial year showed a surplus of exports over imports of £7,181,000. Exports amounted to £27,909,000 in Ansii Lilian currency, compared with £32,611,000 for tile corresponding period last year. ‘Expressed in sterling values the comparison is £21,382,000 against £31,951,000. Imports were valued at £11,200,000, Against £27,301,00 for the same period last year. Expressed in Australian currency the decline was from £29,296,000 to £18,442,000. Exports of butter showed a rise of nearly £1,000,000 to £2,516,132. Wool, however, declined from £7,453,608 to £6 497 3/1. Wheat rose from £2,467,634 to *£3,137,658.
