TENNIS MATCH

Ivanieri tennis team visited Ross on -Saturday and a very interesting afternoon was -spent in trying’ conclusion with local teams.

The weather was ideal and the two courts were continuously occupied till about 7 p.m. During the afternoon refreshments were dispensed by the local club.

The visitors were entertained at a dance in the Totara Hail in the evtn-

The Ross Club have just completed a very nice pavilion, 30 feet in length and 18 feet wide, containing ladies’ and gents’ rooms and a refreshment room 14 feet by/ 9 feet. The building is quite a useful one and adds considerably to the appearance of the grounds.

The whole of the construction was carried out by volunteer labour, and special credit is due to Messrs J. Houlahan and tt. Richards who did practically the whole of the carpentering work and the club are to be congratulated on the handsome addition to : their courts. The following is the result of the match, Kanieri winning 108’ : games and .13 sets, Ross winning 109 games and 11 sets:— COMBINED DOUBLES. Pawson and Miss Man son 6, O’Connell and Mrs Pethig 6 ; W.
