BOWLING

A rink from the Hokitika Bowling Club, consisting of Messrs C. J. King, N. Dew, W. Wilson and D. Stevenson, have nominated for the New Zealand Bowling Association tournament, which takes place at Christchurch early, in January.

Play for the. singles championship of the local Club is now taking place and members are requested to play their games at the earliest possible opportunity.

There was an interesting practice game on Saturday afternoon. The green was running fast, but was somewhat tricky in places, the result of the recent damage done by the grass grub visitation, which has been nearly coped with. Otherwise the green is in capital order. > •; v
